The brief.
Konstruct was engaged by a lift contractor to provide emergency rigging and access support after a passenger lift was taken out of service for repair. With the lift tagged out and the contractor needing to return it to service quickly, Konstruct was called in on 24 hours notice to attend on the weekend and provide the specialist rigging required to complete the works within the day.
The challenge.
The work carried a firm deadline. The lift had to be back in service by the end of the day, which left no room for delay across mobilising a crew at short notice, on a weekend, and rigging safely within a confined lift shaft. The repair itself sat with the lift contractor, but it could not proceed until the lift car was safely supported and isolated from the system, and that support had to be established and trusted before any work began.
How we delivered.
Konstruct attended site at short notice and installed a rigging system to support and isolate the lift car, using chain blocks rigged to take and hold the load. With the car secured, the lift contractor was able to carry out the necessary repairs and re-rig the steel cable lines safely. Once the works were complete, Konstruct released the car back onto the system and supported the contractor through testing before the lift was returned to service. The whole operation was completed within the day, as required.
The outcome.
The lift was repaired and returned to service by the end of the day, meeting the deadline in full. By mobilising quickly and providing reliable rigging support at short notice, Konstruct allowed the lift contractor to complete a time-critical repair safely over a single weekend. The job reflects the rapid-response capability Konstruct offers when specialist access and rigging are needed without delay.
