The brief.
Konstruct was engaged to lift and install a custom-made glass pool table into the penthouse of a new residential tower in Newstead. The table, understood to be valued at around 100,000 dollars, was manufactured to order in the United States and shipped to Australia for the building's owner. Constructed entirely of glass, it could not be moved as a single piece and had to be lifted in sections and assembled in place.
The challenge.
The value and fragility of the table allowed no margin for error. A custom one-off piece of this kind cannot be replaced on any reasonable timeframe, so every section had to be lifted and handled with absolute care from the ground to the penthouse. Working at the top of a new build, with the lift carried out in full view of the wider site, added a level of scrutiny that left no room for a misjudged movement.
How we delivered.
Konstruct lifted the table to the penthouse in sections, controlling each piece carefully through the ascent before assembling the complete table in position. The work demanded steady coordination and a methodical pace, with precision and protection of the glass prioritised at every stage over speed. The full table was brought up, assembled and set in place without damage.
The outcome.
The custom glass pool table was installed in the penthouse intact and without incident, delivered to the standard a piece of its value demands. The job stands as an example of the care and precision Konstruct brings to high-value, high-stakes work, where the measure of success is a flawless result on something that cannot be replaced.
